Heirloom Crostini

12 slices of baguette style bread, cut into 1/2 inch thick slices
1 garlic clove, peeled and left whole
4 oz. goat cheese
12 pieces squash thinly sliced
12 tomatoes
olive oil
sea salt
fresh black pepper
fresh snipped basil

Position oven rack to the second from the top level to prepare to broil. Arrange bread on a baking sheet; rub with garlic clove and toast both sides until golden. Spread 1 t goat cheese across each slice of bread. Top this with 1 slice summer squash and 1 slice of tomato. Lightly brush tomato slice with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Broil about 40 seconds or until tomato is warmed. Sprinkle each piece with basil and serve.
